Testimonials User Guide

Collect, approve and display customer testimonials — as a widget or a Lurox component.

Social proof, on any page

The Testimonials module lets you collect customer testimonials — with photos and star ratings — and display them on your storefront as social proof. Show them as an attractive card carousel on modern themes, or a clean static list anywhere else. You can drop testimonials onto any page either as a ready-made widget or as a native Lurox component.

Adding & managing testimonials

Manage testimonials from the Cabbage Patch Studios → Content → Testimonials grid. It lists every testimonial with filters and bulk approve / reject / delete actions.

Each testimonial has:

  • Author name and (optional) company
  • Quote / text
  • Rating (1–5 stars)
  • Photo (optional)
  • Status — Pending, Approved or Rejected
  • Store view assignment

Only Approved testimonials appear on the storefront. Configuration toggles (Enable Testimonials, Show Star Ratings, Show Photos) live under Stores → Configuration → Cabbage Patch Studios → Testimonials.

The Testimonials admin configuration screen.
The configuration screen — enable testimonials and choose whether to show star ratings and photos.

Two ways to display them

Both methods read the same approved testimonials — pick whichever suits the page.

A. The Testimonials widget (any theme)

In Content → Widgets → Add Widget, choose CPS Testimonials Carousel, set how many to show, whether to show stars / photos, and autoplay options, then assign it to a page or block. It renders as a static card stack on any theme; on modern themes that include the Alpine runtime (including Lurox themes) it upgrades automatically to a rotating carousel with prev / next controls.

B. The Lurox Testimonials component (in the editor)

If you're building a page in Lurox, add the Testimonials component from the picker (Content category) and set its heading, count, layout and rating / photo options inline. The component appears in the picker only when the Testimonials module is active. See the Lurox User Guide for the editor basics.

Which should I use? Use the widget to drop testimonials onto a standard CMS page or block on any theme. Use the Lurox component when you're already building the page visually in Lurox and want it inline with your other content.

Free vs Pro

FeatureFreePro
Approved testimonialsUp to 5Unlimited
Display styleStatic stackStatic stack + carousel (autoplay, prev/next)
Photos, ratings, quotesYesYes

On Free, approving a sixth testimonial prompts you to demote one or upgrade. Editing an already-approved testimonial doesn't count against the cap. On a theme without the Alpine runtime, a carousel gracefully falls back to a static stack.

Collect → approve → display

  1. Add a testimonial in the admin grid — name, company, quote, rating and an optional photo. It saves as Pending.
  2. Approve it: open the row (or use the grid's bulk action) and set Status to Approved.
  3. Display it — either create a CPS Testimonials Carousel widget on the target page, or add the Testimonials component to a Lurox page. Both pull approved testimonials automatically.

FAQ

I chose carousel but it shows a static list. Either the theme doesn't include the Alpine runtime, or you're on Free (carousel is a Pro display style). Both fall back to a static stack.

Photos aren't showing. Confirm the image was uploaded and the testimonial is Approved.

The Lurox component disappeared from the picker. The Testimonials module has been disabled — re-enable it and reopen the editor.
