SEO Suite User Guide

Rank higher and get cited by AI β€” meta templates, structured data, clean facet URLs, redirects, robots, llms.txt and an audit dashboard.

What SEO Suite does

SEO Suite is a complete SEO toolkit for Magento 2 β€” seventeen tools in one module, spanning the on-page fundamentals (meta templates, canonical control, XML & HTML sitemaps, robots rules), structured data (Product, FAQ, Organization and Breadcrumb rich snippets with star ratings), technical SEO (301/302 redirect manager, clean layered-navigation URLs, rel prev/next) and a built-in SEO audit dashboard β€” plus llms.txt for the new AI answer engines.

It's freemium: the Free tier ships meta templates, canonical control and basic rich snippets; Pro ($329, per domain) unlocks the other fourteen tools.

Where to configure it

Stores → Configuration → Cabbage Patch Studios → SEO Suite. Each feature group has its own section and its own on/off toggle, so you can adopt SEO Suite one capability at a time.

Licensing Pro is licensed per domain (website). Set your licence key at website scope; the Free tier has its own free key, which registers your install rather than gating it β€” every free feature runs with no key at all. Feature gating reads a cached licence response with a durable database fallback, so a cache flush never silently drops you to Free mid-session.

Clean facet URLs (layered navigation)

By default Magento's filtered pages live behind query strings (?color=123) that search engines largely ignore. Turn on Layered navigation → Clean facet URLs and SEO Suite serves them as real, crawlable paths β€” /shirts/color/red β€” with a single self-canonical tag, and zero stored URL-rewrite rows, so it scales to any catalogue size.

  1. Enable Clean facet URLs and pick the attributes to expose (e.g. colour, size).
  2. Choose the URL shape (attribute-scoped is the default and the most SEO-friendly).
  3. Save, then open a category and apply a filter β€” the address bar shows the clean path.
Prerequisite β€” enable the core category canonical tag Self-canonical on facet pages builds on Magento's own category canonical. Set Stores → Configuration → Catalog → Catalog → Search Engine Optimization → "Use Canonical Link Meta Tag For Categories" = Yes. Without it, the facet page won't emit a self-canonical.
Turning it off after indexing If clean URLs have already been indexed and you disable the feature, those pretty URLs will 404. Leave the feature on, or set up 301s (via the Redirect Manager) before disabling.

AI-SEO: llms.txt

As shoppers increasingly ask an AI assistant instead of a search box, llms.txt is how you stay visible. SEO Suite publishes a structured, answer-engine-ready map of your catalogue at /llms.txt so ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini can cite your products and pages accurately. Enable it under AI-SEO; there's nothing else to maintain β€” it regenerates from your live catalogue.

The SEO Audit dashboard

Find what's costing you rankings without hunting for it. The audit scans every product, category and CMS page and lists issues β€” missing meta, duplicate titles, thin content, broken canonicals β€” ranked so you fix the highest-impact pages first.

  1. Run a scan from Reports → CPS SEO Audit, or let the scheduled scan run on cron.
  2. Work the findings grid top-down; each row links to the entity to fix.
  3. For CI or a large catalogue, run it from the command line: bin/magento cps:seosuite:audit:scan.
The SEO Audit dashboard.
One scan surfaces missing meta titles and descriptions, thin content and more β€” filterable, per entity.

Redirects & migrations

Under Stores → CPS → SEO Redirects you get a full 301/302 manager with hit counts and store scope. Two things make it migration-grade:

  • Auto-redirect on delete β€” remove a product or category and its old URL 301s automatically, so you never leak link equity to a 404.
  • CSV import/export β€” bulk-load a redirect map from your old platform. Rows are matched by path + store (create-or-update); malformed rows are skipped and reported.

FAQ

Does it work with HyvΓ€? Yes. SEO Suite is static-first and renders on both Luma and HyvΓ€. One known edge: image-alt templating hooks Luma's image block; on HyvΓ€, image-alt is applied where the theme exposes the image ViewModel β€” the rest of the suite is unaffected.

Will it clash with Magento's built-in SEO settings? No β€” it extends them. Meta templates only fill fields you haven't set by hand; canonical and robots respect your explicit overrides.

How does it compare to Amasty SEO Toolkit? It matches Amasty on every fundamental and adds llms.txt AI-SEO, clean facet URLs, FAQ structured data and a genuine free tier β€” at $329 vs Amasty's $379, which has no free option.

Do I have to pay every year? No. The licence is perpetual and per domain, with 12 months of updates and support included and an optional discounted renewal. Your store keeps working regardless.
